Recruiting: Lewis Has OSU High On His List

Detron Lewis of College Station (A&M Consolidated), Texas, is one of the top ranked wide receiver prospects in Texas. This past weekend the 6-0, 190-pounder tested his skills along with a large number of other prospects at the Nike Combine on the Texas A&M campus.

"It was all right, pretty good," said Lewis of the combine.

Lewis said he is getting a lot of attention from Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, TCU, Iowa and Arkansas, among other schools. He also said he has a trip planned to Oklahoma State this weekend to unofficially check out the Cowboys program. He will also be busy soon with regionals in track as he has qualified as part of the 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams. He also qualified for the regional meet to be held at Baylor in the long jump.

Last season he finished with 62 receptions for 972 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also played in the secondary late in games.

"They put me in at the end to help preserve the lead," said Lewis.

Lewis said he is open although he grew up a Florida State fan, and that he plans on taking all five of his official visits and taking his time before making a decision. This summer he listed Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas A&M and Texas as camps that he is planning to attend.
