Recruiting: Cowboys Offer Another Brenham Cub

Jarrett Lee is getting a lot of attention as the outstanding quarterback and athlete from Brenham High School, and is one of the recruiting darlings in Texas. But one of his targets is rising fast with several schools, and apparently one of them is Oklahoma State.

"Yes, Oklahoma State has offered and they are in my top five along with TCU, Wisconsin, Texas Tech, and Nebraska," said Brandon Collins, speaking from Huntsville, Texas, where he and his track teammates are getting ready for the Class 4A track regional starting on Friday. Northwestern and New Mexico have also offered scholarships.

The 6-0, 170-pound Collins runs a 4.43 in the 40-yard dash and will be competing in Huntsville in the long jump and 300 hurdles. He has a squat max of 400 pounds and last season was a top target with 39 receptions for 779 yards and eight touchdowns. He also starts at safety on the defensive side of the ball.

Schools won't have to wait long on Collins as he said he is geared up to make an early decision in recruiting.

"I will make my decision before football season starts. Actually, I want to make my decision sometime in June," said Collins. "I've been to TCU and Texas A&M, and I am visiting Texas Tech (unofficially) on May 6 and then going to Oklahoma State (unofficially) on May 31. I'm looking for a school with good players but where I can play right away and play a lot. I also want to go to a school with good facilities."

Collins said he wants to study Kinesiology, and he is a good student who will have no trouble qualifying.
