Recruiting: OSU Part Of Posse After Kerley

Hutto, Texas is getting some extra visitors this recruiting evaluation period thanks to quarterback/safety Jeremy Kerley. The 5-10, 175-pound Kerley can move with 4.49 speed, and actually when we caught up with him was in Humble, Texas, for the Class 3A track regionals that begin on Friday.

"We start in the morning and I'm in the long jump, triple jump, and me and my guys qualified for the spring relay and we're nice," said Kerley.

Recruiting is well underway for Kerley as he already has offers from Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, TCU, Kansas and Missouri. He has also heard from Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma, Florida, Florida State and Miami.

"I really like the Big 12 schools," said Kerley. "Texas is my favorite, but really any of the Big 12 schools because I want to play in that conference and it would be close by for my family. I realize that I may have to learn a new position and I don't have to start right away, but I want to contribute to the team."

Kerley would like to get around and see some of the schools after track and school are over. He wants to major in sports management or sports medicine. His grades are good and qualifying is not a problem.

He rushed for over 1,500 yards and 30 touchdowns last season, and also threw for just more than 900 yards. He has a bench press max of 255 and can squat 470 pounds.
