Recruiting: Williams Has Five Offers

Little Rock (Central Arkansas Christian), Ark., tight end and defensive end David Williams was leaning toward Oklahoma State the last time we spoke with him, shortly after he had visited a spring scrimmage at OSU. We asked Williams if anything has changed and what he's been up to.

"A little bit of everything," said Williams. "Lately I've been to Kansas State for their junior day and had a chance to see them practice. I went to LSU for the Nike combine (he ran an impressive sub 4.7 in the 40-yard dash), and I went to an FCA combine here in Little Rock."

Williams said he has been receiving phone calls. Schools are allowed one call per recruit in the month of May. He said he has heard from all the schools that have offered him including Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Arkansas, Mississippi and Mississippi State. He said he also talked to Oklahoma, but the Sooners have not offered.

"After I went to Oklahoma State they were pretty much my number one choice, but now everything is pretty equal between all of the schools that have offered," said the 6-3 1/2, 247-pound Williams. "I am going to wait until I am sure about my choice before I make a commitment."

Williams said he is considering going to camps this summer of the schools that have offered scholarships. Right now he appears to be a long way off from being ready to make a commitment.
