At 6-5, 180 pounds with 4.5 speed, Davis is a dynamo and the proof is in the numbers. As a sophomore he picked off 10 passes playing as a 6-4 safety. Last season he flexed his football prowess at wide receiver and caught 55 passes for more than 1,300 yards and 16 touchdowns earning all kinds of recognition including Associated Press Class 2A Honorable Mention All-State. There were also four quarterbacks that hadn't learned their lesson and he picked off four more passes. Davis is also a standout on the basketball court for Mart.
"I've been offered by Baylor," said Davis. "I've heard from Kansas, Missouri, SMU, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Texas A&M and that is pretty much it. I'm going to summer camps at Texas A&M, Oklahoma State and Baylor and that is probably it."
Davis said he grew up following Baylor primarily because of former players at Mart that went to Baylor. Davis has good grades and know what he is looking for academically.
"I want a school where I can get a good education and one that wants me there," said Davis. "I want to major in computer technology."
He also made it sound like schools have time to catch up on his personal recruiting timetable.
"I think I will take my time and go all the way through recruiting to the end so I can see what kind of choices I have," said Davis.
