Recruiting: Dwyer Still Having Fun

"No, I'm still having fun with recruiting," said running back Jonathan Dwyer of Marietta (Kell), Ga., when asked about all the phone calls and the contact from coaches. Of course, it is still early, but Dwyer has done some pretty smart things to save him some money and allow him to go through recruiting on his timetable. His cell phone won't accept text messages and he doesn't give the number out to many people. His main contacts with the schools and the coaches is through e-mail.

Dwyer is a 6-0, 200-pound running back with great speed (4.4), good character, good grades, and parents that care about seeing him make the right decision. The Dwyers have already been to Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida and Auburn. This summer Dwyer said he and his parents have planned trips to Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Oklahoma State, back to Florida, Clemson, and South Carolina.

"I'm going to try to hit as many one-day camps as a I can," said Dwyer. "All of the schools (the ones he has visited unofficially) stand out, and all of the schools are coming at me pretty hard."

That is something he can continue to expect. As a junior Dwyer had 1,898 yards rushing and 23 touchdowns. He is easily one of the top running back prospects in the nation. Something that is also a possibility - and that will make him even more of a hot prospect - is that he might graduate early.

"I don't know yet, but that is something that I have been talking about with my parents," Dwyer saidof grad uating in December. "It is something we will decide on later."

Right now Oklahoma State can feel pretty good about being on Dwyer's dance card as just about every school in the country would like to have him considering their campus for a destination, whether it happens in the spring or the fall of 2007.
