Recruiting: Richette Jones Attends OSU Camp

The Oklahoma State coaching staff started round of one-day or half-day satellite camps Tuesday in Dallas as they held a morning session at Richardson Berkner High School and then came back with an afternoon camp at Duncanville High School. The staff moves on to Houston Wednesday and then wraps up the week on Thursday in East Texas at Kilgore.

By all reports the attendance was good for both Dallas sessions. One major highlight was the attendance of Lincoln High School linebacker/defensive end Richetti Jones. The 6-4, 215-pound Jones is one of the most sought after prospects in the country. Contacted on Tuesday night Jones said he was impressed with working with the OSU staff.

"It went good," said Jones. "I wanted to see the coaches and see how they work and do the things they do. I wanted to see what I could pick up from them and see if they could help my game. There were quite a few guys there and they (OSU coaches) know what they are doing."

Jones said he has started out the summer working out and working at his grandfather's golf course. He said the job is working out well. He agreed that working at a golf course is pretty good by summer job standards.

As far as attending other camps? "I don't know yet," said the standout defender. "I'll have to see what comes up and if it fits in my schedule."

One aspect of his recruiting that is very clear is that a decision is a long way off for Jones. For instance, I asked what his number of scolarship offers is up to now?

"A lot," said Jones. "I just know it is a lot."

And has he narrowed his choices down to a concise number? "I don't even know," said Jones. "I haven't really thought about it lately."

Expect Jones to take some time. There is no doubt that any school that has offered will hold onto a spot for him as long as they feel they have a chance Jones will pick them.
