Recruiting: Creer Talks About OSU Trip

After Wednesday's trip to Stillwater and late arrival home last night back to Tatum, talented wide receiver Darnius Moore didn't have any time to sleep in as he had to be at work early at Tatum High School. His talented teammate, running back Lennon Creer had a little more time before going up to the school for summer workout.

"It went good," said the 6-0, 200-pound standout in discussing the duo's trip on Wednesday to Oklahoma State for an unofficial visit. "We wanted to go up there and look at the campus."

Creer and Moore represent the best running back/wide receiver duo from one school in the state of Texas. Creer has been offered by most of the Division I college world including Texas, LSU, Miami, Texas A&M, Baylor, and, of course, Oklahoma State. Moore has offers from basically the same contingent.

Creer said this was his third unofficial visit as he had already been to Texas and Oklahoma in the spring. In fact, Texas had somewhat of a deadline with Creer earlier this month for him to accept their scholarship offer. That deadline came and went without Creer making a declaration. The All-State back that rushed for 2,150 yards and 18 touchdowns last season said he was feeling pressure to commit and wasn't ready.

He did hint that he might commit before the end of the summer.

"I'm not sure, but I am thinking that I might want to get it over with and make an early commitment," added Creer.

He also suggested calling him back in early August hinting that might be around the time he might make a decision.

As for how he felt about the trip to Oklahoma State. "It was nice. The coaching staff was real good. I hit it off with those guys. Coach (Curtis) Luper, Coach (Joe) Wickline, Coach (Larry) Fedora ... they made a very good impression," Creer said. "The facilities that they are building are impressive. I even met some of the incoming offensive linemen, but I don't remember any of their names. We saw the whole campus, but not much of the town."

Creer didn't speak for his teammate other than to say he felt much the same way as they had a long time to talk on the drive home.

The visit of Creer and Moore has to be seen as a very positive move in their recruitment for the Cowboys, and with early commitments a possibility it definitely makes the summer months in recruiting much more interesting for Oklahoma State fans.
