Recruiting: Johnson Looking To Check Out OSU

Safety prospect TeJay Johnson of Garland (South Garland), Texas, says his next plan in recruiting is to check out Oklahoma State. The Cowboys are one of 17 schools to offer a scholarship to the standout who is listed in most everybody's Top 100 players in Texas. Johnson finished his junior season with 97 tackles, five sacks, and two interceptions in earning All-District and All-Area honors.

"My next plan is to go check out Oklahoma State," said Johnson. "I have been to TCU and I've looked into TCU and Georgia Tech and they are both great schools. I really like both of them."

Johnson hinted that TCU and Georgia Tech really are the leaders right now, but the 6-1, 190-pounder with 4.5 speed has offers from those two and OSU along with Kansas State, Iowa State, Arizona State, Indiana, Wisconsin, Texas Tech, Duke, Central Florida, Arizona, Tulsa, Wake Forest, Kansas, Arkansas and San Diego State.

Something else that makes him very attractive is his academics. He has a 3.8 GPA and scored a 21 on the ACT. He says he wants to major in college in computer animation or something similar. Johnson is a recruit that really knows what he is looking for. He also knows his time table.

"I'm going to take it into the fall and maybe later," said Johnson. "I'm going to take my time and make the right decision."

With so many schools interested he can certainly afford to do so.
