Davis Has Good Visit To OSU

Wide receiver Damian Davis of Mart, Texas, called his unofficial visit to Oklahoma State on Wednesday and Thursday "pretty good" as we caught up with him while he was traveling home. Davis, a 6-5, 190-pound wide receiver with good speed is considered a Randy Moss-type receiver that has plenty of potential to develop physically. Davis is young and will not turn 17 until August 18.

Davis, who also participates in basketball and track at Mart, was accompanied on his visit by his AAU coach and his school principal at Mart High School.

"It was pretty good," said the soft spoken Davis talking about his trip. "The new facilities are really impressive and I had a chance to meet all the coaches except the head coach (Gundy) and I met some of the players."

Davis said he is being recruited by Oklahoma State assistant and ace recruiter Doug Meacham. He said he is being recruited now by Oklahoma State, Baylor, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Kansas, and more recently has been pursued by Arizona, Purdue and Missouri.

Davis is a quiet young man who doesn't reveal a lot. He did add that Oklahoma State was his first visit to the campus of a school recruiting him. He also said he plans on taking his recruiting into the fall and thought he would take some or all of his official visits.

Asked how he felt Mart would do in his upcoming senior season, he said, "Pretty good."
