Darnius Moore Has Top Three

Wide receiver Darnius Moore of Tatum, Texas, says his summer is starting to get a little more quiet since he narrowed his list of college choices to three schools – one in the Big 12 Conference and two from the Southeastern Conference.

"I've really narrowed it down to OSU, LSU and Florida," said the 6-0, 185-pound speedster who was a major reason that Tatum won the Class 3A Division II state championship in Texas last season and is a favorite to win the Class 2A crown this upcoming season. "It's been kind of quiet with just those schools texting and sending me letters. Texas A&M still sends me some letters."

Moore and his highly regarded running back teammate Lennon Creer drove to Stillwater together earlier this summer to make an unofficial visit to OSU. Since that trip Moore said he has continued working out to get ready for the season and he continues to work at his summer job for the Tatum School District.

Last season Moore had 27 receptions for close to 500 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also was huge on punt returns with 10 returns for more than 50 yards and in the 38-34 3A championship win over Hutto he returned a kickoff for a touchdown. He said he will likely wait until after this season to go through the final stages of making his college choice in recruiting.

"I'd say more after the season," Moore said when asked about his timetable on the decision. "I think I'll want to take official visits to my top choices."

We'll update you throughout the fall on how Moore, his teammate Creer, and Tatum are doing as they try to win a second state championship in a new class this season.
