Lennon Creer: Close To A Decision?

Running back Lennon Creer of Tatum, Texas, told us there was nothing new when we talked to him by phone on Thursday evening, but in reality there were some new developments with his recruitment. His Tatum teammate, wide receiver Darnius Moore, told us on Sunday that he had narrowed his list of schools to three and that he might commit sometime soon. Creer has also skinnied up his choices.

"I've narrowed it down to four," said the 6-0, 205-pound speedster. "Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Miami are the four."

Creer and Moore both tripped to Oklahoma State together on an unofficial visit in June. Creer has been to Oklahoma, and he is making another summer trip.

"I'm going to Tennessee next week and then I'll decide after that trip," revealed Creer.

He told us that he thought he would know something and that we should check back with him sometime during the second week of August.

Creer, who is a good student with a 3.0 GPA and 19 on the ACT, is also very good on the field and deserving of being a top 100 prospect in the country. Last season he helped lead Tatum to the Texas Class 3A championship rushing for 2,150 yards and 18 touchdowns.
