Richetti Jones Brings A Friend To Stillwater

We caught up Friday evening with defensive standout Richetti Jones of Dallas (Lincoln), Texas. Jones had just returned home from what we count as his sixth unofficial visit to Oklahoma State over the last couple of days.

"I just got back this afternoon," said Jones. "Yes, I had somebody with me, T (Terrance) Toliver. I just wanted to show it to him."

Like Jones, who is a standout national top 50 recruit who could play either defensive end or linebacker, Terrance Toliver of Hempstead, Texas, is a similarly regarded prospect as a wide receiver. Toliver is 6-5, 190-pound wide receiver with track speed who is considered by most as one of the top 10 wide receiver prospects in this class.

We tried to reach Toliver but there was no answer at his home. In a recent interview with Gator Country, the Scout web site which covers the Florida Gators, Toliver said he didn't have a top five but that Florida, Miami, LSU and Oklahoma were among his top schools.

Jones said he is trying to lay low in recruiting as he is nearing the time that he wants it to be over.

"I'm going to make my announcement the first week of school," added the 6-3, 230-pounder who had 75 tackles and 16 sacks last season and a combined 31 sacks the past two seasons.

We mentioned that The Dallas Morning News reported that Jones would commit on Aug. 17. "I'd say they are on top of it," added Jones.

Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M have been the schools that Jones has mentioned, but his six trips to Stillwater have to be considered a strong statement for the Cowboys chances.
