Cowboy Safety Coe To Miss Opener

Oklahoma State safety Clint Coe will not be available to play in the Cowboys' season opener Saturday against Missouri State. Coe, a junior from Edmond, Okla., suffered a concussion and other injuries when he was the innocent victim of an assault this past Saturday night in Stillwater, newspapers in the state reported in Wednesday's editions.

Coe, a transfer from Troy University who sat out last season as a redshirt, had made a remarkable recovery from a torn ACL injury suffered just four and a half months ago, and was expected to play against Missouri State. He was listed in Monday's release from OSU as the second team free safety to Donovan Woods.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Coe did nothing against team rules and will remain a member of the squad. He is expected to return to practice next week and could play against Arkansas State on Sept. 9.
