Recruiting: Alexander Enjoying Strong Season

Linebacker Kenny Alexander of McKinney (North), Texas, was in Stillwater to watch Oklahoma State on Saturday night and was feeling good after helping his high school beat Forney on Friday night 38-17. Alexander said he had six tackles, two sacks and a couple of passes broken up in the win. They now have an open week to polish up before district play begins.

The open week made it an easy decision for Alexander to head to Stillwater to catch his future team. The speedy linebacker said he is a firm commitment to the Cowboys and said he would make an official visit the Thanksgiving weekend of the Bedlam game in Stillwater.

"I think a lot of the guys will be doing that from Texas," said Alexander. "They played a good game last night. The defense is really improved. They are way more improved than some people expected and are moving in the right direction. That's three wins and now they are out for a bowl game."

Alexander said because he is a firm commitment that it was easy to sit in the stands and think about the future.

"It does make it a lot easier," said Alexander. "If you were looking at different options where it is maybe, I'll be here or I'll be somewhere else, but this way I know I'm going to be there and I can see myself out there with the game and all the traditions like singing the alma mater."

Again, Alexander is planning on that Bedlam weekend official visit, but admitted he might have to change it when he was reminded about his school's expected playoff run.

"If I have to I'll change it because yes, we are going to the playoffs."
