Recruiting: Richetti Says Nothing's Changed

Based on all the activity on Internet message boards we checked Sunday night to see if anything has changed with Oklahoma State commitment Richetti Jones, the standout defensive end prospect from Dallas (Lincoln), Texas, who is the 30th-ranked player in the nation, according to

"Everything is the same," Jones said in describing his recruiting and his verbal commitment to Oklahoma State that he made on Fox Sports Southwest last month. "I'm good."

Jones did take in the annual Texas-Oklahoma game in the Cotton Bowl on Saturday. "Yes, I went with my brother and my parents to the game," he said.

Jones said they had tickets and that he was not there as an unofficial recruiting guest of the University of Oklahoma, the home school in the game. He did say he knew a lot of guys that were there as unofficial guests.

Asked how he is doing on the field that seems to be all good as well. "We beat Spruce on Friday 35-6," said Jones. "I had three sacks and over 10 tackles. We're 3-2 on the season and the Spruce game was our first in district so we're 1-0 there. This week we have North Dallas."

Jones made seven unofficial trips to Stillwater this past spring and summer to check out the football program and see friends at Oklahoma State like basketball point guard Byron Eaton and football freshman defensive back Al'Darius Thompson.

So when is he planning on returning to Stillwater? "I don't know, maybe for the A&M game," said Jones, who said he plans on making a game.

Right now taking Lincoln to the state playoffs, and as deep as they can make it, is his priority.
