Future Cowboys In The Playoffs

Each week throughout the season GoPokes.com tracked the progress of the 14 high school football players who verbally committed to sign with Oklahoma State next February. Here is an update on how those players still participating in the playoffs.

McKinney (Texas) North
McKinney North's season ended with a first-round loss in the Class 4A playoffs last weekend.

Celina (Texas) High
Blatnick and the Celina defensive line was dominant in limiting Texas A&M commit Shawnbrey McNeal to 22 rushing yards on 11 carries as Celina, ranked No. 1 in Class 3A, defeated Madison 43-6 in a 3A Division II, Region II area round playoff game Friday. Next: Friday, Dec. 1, vs. Canton (8-4), at Garland.

JOSH COOPER, WR-K (6-1, 170)
Mustang (Okla.) High
Cooper's Broncos were eliminated in the Class 6A quarterfinals a week ago, but the Mustang senior finished the season with 81 catches for 1,324 yards and 15 touchdowns.

DAMIAN DAVIS, WR (6-5, 190)
Mart (Texas) High
Davis, despite receiving extra attention from Friday night's opponent, had a 13-yard touchdown catch and also intercepted a pass to lead No. 1-ranked Mart to an easy 49-21 victory over previously unbeaten East Chambers in a Class 2A Division II area playoff game Friday night in Huntsville, Texas. Next: vs. Hooks (10-2), TBA.

GRANT GARNER, OL (6-3, 265)
North Mesquite (Texas)
North Mesquite finished the season 5-5 and just missed qualifying for the playoffs.

Schertz (Texas) Clemens
Clemens, 11-1, jumped out to a 21-0 first quarter lead and never looked back en route to a 35-12 victory over Lanier in the second round of the Class 4A Division II playoffs Friday night. Next: Friday, Dec. 1, vs. Edcouch-Elsa (12-0), at Corpus Christi.

AHMAD JONES, OL/DT (6-3, 310)
Silsbee (Texas) High
Silsbee saws its season come to a close with a 44-41 loss to Columbia in a Class 3A Division I Region III area playoff game Friday night.

Dallas (Texas) Lincoln
The high school career of Jones came to an end several weeks ago when he suffered a hip injury that required surgery. But the season came to an end for his Lincoln teammates Friday night when Brownwood captured a 46-14 victory in a Class 4A Division II Region II area playoff game.

ISAAC MADISON, CB (5-10, 175)
Dallas (Texas) Carter
Carter saw its season come to a close at Richardson Berkner kicked a field goal at time expired to capture a 31-29 victory in Saturday's Class 5A Division II playoff game at Texas Stadium.

Floresville (Texas) High
Floresville is not participating in the playoffs after finishing the season with a 2-8 record.

MICKEY OKAFOR, OL (6-6, 290)
Houston (Texas) Wesbury The Rebels compiled a 3-7 record this past season.

Oklahoma City (Okla.) Heritage Hall
Heritage Hall finishes the season with an 8-5 record following Friday night's 19-14 loss to Spiro in the Class 2A quarterfinals.

Seguin (Texas) High
Seguin saw its season come to an abrupt end with a 34-27 loss to San Antonio Reagan in the bi-district round of the Class 5A-Division I playoffs a week ago.

JONATHAN RUSH, OL (6-4, 271)
Killeen (Texas) High
Rush and his Killeen teammates saw their season end with a 5-5 record, and a coin toss kept them out of the Class 4A playoffs.
