Recruiting: Harris Torn Between Cowboys, Hogs

Safety Bret Harris of Irving (MacArthur), Texas, had made a verbal commitment in Novomber to Arkansas. But he still had to make an official visit to Oklahoma State as those had become his two top schools during the fall. The visit to Oklahoma State was made this weekend and now Harris says he has some talking to do with his parents and some thinking to do before making a final decision.

"The visit this weekend was good," Harris said of his trip to Stillwater and OSU. "The new facilities and the players really impressed me. The players were nice and friendly and it made me feel real comfortable."

How good was the visit to Oklahoma State? "I need to talk it over with my parents," said the 6-0, 195-pound 4.4 safety prospect when asked if he was still committed to Arkansas. "I'm taking it all in and I'm going to hold off until January before I will have a decision."

When asked if he was still enjoying the recruiting process Harris said it has now become tough trying to chose beween his two top choices. This year the dead period has been extended through the AFCA coaches convention, so Harris will have more time if he wants it to be alone in his thoughts before coaches can start making weekly visits again. He told us to check back with him in January.
