Recruiting: Gundy To Visit Tea Monday

We were not able to reach Snow C.C. (Utah) defensive tackle Tonga Tea Jr. on Sunday as he made his way home from his official visit to Oklahoma State. We will attempt to reach him through his coach, Jeff Kilts, at Snow. We do know that Cowboy head coach Mike Gundy and assistant Todd Bradford, who is the recruiting coach on Tea, will be on the Snow campus Monday to talk with him.

That is a good sign because a quick visit by the head coach off an official visit is usually a sign that a recruit is ready to commit. In the case of Tea he will be a mid-term transfer and a junior college signee that can sign in a few days.

We also know from seeing Tea at the Cowboy practice this weekend that he was very intent on watching what was going on and he seemed to really hit it off with a number of the Oklahoma State players based on their interaction with each other (high fiving and stuff like that).

Tea is a solidly built 6-0, 313-pound inside technique (three) on the defensive line and would be a huge get for Oklahoma State with the graduation of Larry Brown and Xavier Lawson-Kennedy, who both filled that role this past season.
