Gundy Closes Down Saturday's Practice

STILLWATER - Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy made a quick decision to close practice about 20 minutes into the Cowboys' Saturday morning practice session. Several fans had gathered on the west end of the grass practice fields and were politely asked to leave and the doors were closed.

The decision was made because of the graduation ceremonies that were going on all day and during the practice. The first ceremony concluded moments after the gates were locked and the crowd started moving outside Gallagher-Iba Arena. Several shouts of "Boomer Sooner" were heard from some of the attendees of the graduation ceremony. The inability to monitor who was coming in during the practice session and disruption outside the gates made closing the practice a wise decision.

Gundy usually keeps an eye on the crowd and knows the Cowboys fans that regularly attend practice. That couldn't be done Saturday.

The Cowboys started installing and putting in repetitions on the game plan for the PetroSun Independence Bowl against Alabama during the two-hour practice.

The Cowboys will practice Sunday at 11 a.m. and it is believed that it will again be open to the public.
