Recruiting: Okafor Opens Up Recruiting

Chukwuena "Mickey" Okafor, the 6-6, 295-pound offensive tackle prospect out of Houston (Westbury), Texas, says he has opened up his recruiting again. Okafor had been verbally committed to Houston until he made an official visit to Oklahoma State for the Bedlam game. He was so impressed that he changed his commitment to Oklahoma State. Now he says he is rethinking his recruitment.

"I've opened it up again between Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Houston," said Okafor. "I may also take a visit in January to OU. I opened it up after talking to a lot of people that told me I should. There were people in Houston that told me information on Oklahoma State."

Okafor wouldn't elaborate on which people and what they told him, but he said he is still considering the Cowboys along with Texas Tech, Houston, OU and TCU.

"I want to take all five of my visits, so I am looking at OU and TCU because they offered me the other week," added Okafor.

So what does he like about the schools he is considering?
Oklahoma State: "I love the new facilities and they have a great game day atmosphere," Okafor said of the Cowboys. "The coaches are cool."
Texas Tech: "I really like the coaching staff and they have a good game day atmosphere," said Okafor.
Houston: "The coaches are good and they just won a championship," said Okafor. "I'd like to have a ring like that."
OU: "They are ranked eighth, but I have to get up there and see it," said Okafor.
TCU: "They offered me," said Okafor.

He said it will be January now before he makes a final decision.
