OSU-Nebraska Game Postponed

Oklahoma State's basketball game against Nebraska scheduled for Saturday in Lincoln, Neb., has been postponed, and will be made up at a later date. OSU head coach Sean Sutton, in consultation with athletic director Mike Holder, made the decision not to fly to Nebraska in the adverse weather conditions that hit both Oklahoma and Kansas in recent days.

The Cowboys traveled back to Stillwater from Oklahoma City where they have spent the past two days trying to get to Lincoln.

The Cowboys were originally scheduled to fly out of Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City on Friday but an ice storm caused a delay. The OSU traveling party spent the night in an Oklahoma City hotel and was hoping to fly to Nebraska on Saturday afternoon, and play the game at 7 p.m.

OSU head coach Sean Sutton spoke with athletic director Mike Holder on Saturday, and both agreed that they did not want to put any student-athlete in a position of traveling in what could be unsafe conditions.

The Big 12 Conference will determine a date for the game to be made up in the future.

The Cowboys, 15-2 and ranked ninth in the wlatest Associated Press Top 25 poll, return to action on Tuesday night against Texas at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
