Recruiting: Farmer Down To OSU, Nebraska

Two-way standout Tarence Farmer of Houston (St. Pius X), Texas, saw something he really liked during his visit to Oklahoma State as one of the official visitors making it to Stillwater. visited Sunday evening with Farmer after he returned home.

"I like everything about the visit. Everything was just really comfortable," said the 6-2, 190-pound receiver/cornerback prospect. "It was a comfortable place I could be at."

But when asked about the highlight of the visit, Farmer answered, "It would have to be the communication and closeness with the team. The team is so much like a family, and everyone seems to get along real well with each other, at least from what I saw. Everybody is cool with everybody else. I think the team and coaches have a good relationship."

OSU receiver Jeremy Broadway showed Farmer around campus, but the Cowboys are recruiting him as both a pass catcher and defensive back, he said. "They're recruiting me as both but I kind of prefer receiver over defensive back," said Farmer, who had 44 catches for 1,045 yards (an average of nearly 24 yards a reception) and 15 touchdowns in helping St. Pius X win the TAPPS Division I state championship, "but if I have to I'll play defensive back and won't complain." He also recorded 51 tackles and four interceptions playing defense.

Farmer said he will visit Nebraska next week and then make a decision between the two Big 12 schools. "I hope to make a decision two or three days after next weekend's trip," he said.
