Recruiting: Anyiam Talks About Picking OSU

We finally caught up with North Garland wide receiver Hubert Anyiam after he announced Wednesday morning that he had chosen Oklahoma State over Nebraska for his college choice. Anyiam is another of the Cowboy football recruits that also stands out on the hardwood as he scored 19 points on Tuesday night in the Raiders basketball win over Naaman Forest.

Anyiam and his hoops teammates will be back at it against Rockwall on Friday night. Wednesday night he was all about explaining his decision to be a Cowboy.

"I just was thinking about it and it all came together," said the 6-0, 170-pound speedy wide receiver that caught 61 passes for 1,058 yards and 11 touchdowns this past season. "It's close and that way my family can come up more and watch me play. I like the coaches and the players and the way they all seem to get along so well. Then the apartments are really nice, the best set up in that area that I've seen. I can enjoy living there. The facilites and then all the new ones that they have coming on line in '08.

"I felt good about Nebraska and there were a lot of schools out there that were good, but I like the way Oklahoma State is going," continued Anyiam. "It is close, and I think I fit in the offense."

Anyiam said he is thinking about business or sports medicine as a major at Oklahoma State.
