Recruiting: Thomas Ready For OSU Visit

Defensive back James Thomas of LaMarque, Texas, confirmed that he heads to Stillwater this weekend for an official visit with the Oklahoma State Cowboys number one on his list. The 6-1, 185-pound safety prospect also plays basketball for LaMarque, but he is free and clear from a commitment there due to a rolled ankle earlier this week.

"I rolled my ankle, but I'm okay." said Thomas. "I'm not on crutches or anything. I can walk, I'm just not running yet. It won't be long, and you don't have to worry about me because I heal fast."

As for Oklahoma State being the favorite, he was a little tight lipped about that.

"It's cool and I'm very excited," said Thomas in reference to making the visit to Stillwater. "Oklahoma State is tops on my list at the moment."

So, the question begs who else is on that list? "I can't really tell that right now,"Thomas said adding some intrigue.

He did say that it was okay to check back with him after his weekend visit. Thomas is a full qualifier with a 3.2 GPA. He finished a playoff season with very good numbers including 105 tackles, 3 interceptions, 4 fumbles caused, 4 fumble recoveries, 12 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and a blocked field goal. He visited Arkansas last week, but the Razorbacks have apparently filled up. Kansas State, Missouri and Michigan have also been involved with Thomas.
