Future Cowboys: Basketball Playoffs

Four players who will one day wear the orange and black of the OSU Cowboys helped their respective teams take another step Friday night toward achieving the ultimate goal – a state championship. Martavius Adams, James Anderson and Nick Sidorakis are seniors who signed with the Cowboys in November, while Keiton Page is a junior who has given his verbal commitment to OSU.

Martavius Adams
The No. 1-ranked Wilkinson County Warriors won their 25th game in a row to advance to the Georgia Class A state quarterfinals on Friday night with an impressive 108-37 victory over Tallulah Falls at Georgia Highlands College. The 6-8 Adams, with 13 points, was one of five Warriors to score in double figures. Wilkinson County improved to 29-1 with the victory.
Next: Tonight vs. Southwest Atlanta Christian (21-8) in the Class A Elite Eight at Georgia Highlands College.

James Anderson
Anderson scored just 18 points – his lowest output in a game this season – but sophomore Shumeecio Lark stepped up with 28 points to lead Junction City to a 70-52 victory Friday night over Riverside in an Arkansas Class 2A state quarterfinal game at Danville High School. Riverside blanketed Anderson wherever he went, and played physical defense on the 6-6 standout, but he still finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocked shots as the Dragons improved to 30-3 on the season.
Next: Tonight vs. Earle in the Class 2A state semifinals at Danville High School.

Nick Sidorakis
Sidorakis teamed with Vince Boncaldo to score 37 points as the fifth-ranked Jenks Trojans defeated No. 8 Tulsa Washington 61-44 on Friday night to advance to the Oklahoma Class 6A state tournament for the second consecutive year. Sidorakis finished with 16 points while Boncaldo added 21 as the Trojans improved to 20-4 on the season.
Next: TBA, pairings for the Class 6A state tournament will be announced Sunday.

Keiton Page
The 5-10 Page, a junior who is committed to OSU but won't sign until November, scored 45 points to lead second-ranked Class 2A Pawnee to a 72-70 victory over fifth-ranked Preston on Friday night in an area tournament final game. The victory gives the Black Bears (24-2) their third consecutive state tournament berth in the last three seasons.
