Recruiting: OSU Offers Popular Defensive End

Standout defensive end Kapron Lewis-Moore of Weatherford, Texas has an engaging personality and judging from his 14 scholarship offers already an engaging level of play on the football field. We caught up with Lewis-Moore after a satisfying Easter Sunday and found out that Oklahoma State is on his radar screen.

As a junior he earned second team all-district honors in the tough Class 5A District 4 in Texas with 50 tackles, six sacks, two fumbles caused, and three fumbles recovered.

"It's been a great day hanging out with family and friends," said Lewis-Moore of his Easter Sunday. "I definitely got my grub on today too," he added with regard to traditional Easter meal.

As far as recruiting goes, he said, "Oklahoma State definitely got thrown in with the schools that have offered me as they added an offer earlier this week and it (recruiting) is really starting to heat up now," explained Lewis-Moore.

It has really heated up for a long time for the 6-5, 230-pound defensive end. He attended just one junior day and that was at Texas A&M. Of his 14 scholarship offers besides Oklahoma State you can include Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Minnesota, Michigan, Texas Tech, Duke, Baylor, Oklahoma and Virginia. He also said he is hearing from but has not been offered by USC and Florida.

"I'm really open in recruiting and haven't made any decisions," he said. "I really don't have a game plan and would like to see some schools this summer but I can't make any promises. I don't see myself committing early, but if I became comfortable with one school then I might commit. I'd really like to see some schools before I do anything and that is why I think I will take my visits."

Lewis-Moore is a busy guy as he also plays basketball and throws the shot put in track at Weatherford.

"Shot put has been going good and we have our district meet this week," said the friendly young man. "I'm really hoping to do well so I can go on to regionals in Lubbock."

Lewis-Moore reported his bench press is low at 225 pounds, but he has a power clean of 285 pounds and can max on the squat at 415 pounds.
