Recruiting: Kody Spano Update

Since he made his verbal commitment to Oklahoma State, quarterback Kody Spano of Stephenville, Texas has made the trip to Stillwater on spring break and watched practice from on the field. He has also attended the Scout combine at the Dallas Cowboys practice facility at Valley Ranch, Texas and was named the all-combine quarterback.

His father, who is the offensive line coach at Stephenville, has spent additional time at OSU with the Stephenville coaching staff looking at some of the things the Cowboy coaching staff is using on offense and defense.

"It's been a lot of fun," said Spano, who is 6-3, 200 pounds and mobile at 4.7. "It went good up in Stillwater on spring break. I got up there and spent time with Coach (Larry) Fedora.

"We watched practice and that was pretty cool because Oklahoma State practices are a lot like our practices -- the way they signal in all the plays and how they run the plays in practice."

Spano also throws the discus in track for Stephenville and has the district meet coming up this Thursday and Friday.

As for the summer he said he plans on attending camp at Oklahoma State, but he is not sure which one. He also has 7-on-7 competition with his Stephenville teammates in preparing for his upcoming senior season.

Spano added that he is happy with his decision and solid with Oklahoma State which would have to rate as good news with the Cowboy staff.
