Recruiting: Gillespie Decommits?

Tony Gillespie, the four-star defensive tackle from Jenks, Okla., who committed to Oklahoma State in early March, has had to rethink his recruitment after being overwhelmed with telephone calls in recent weeks. The 6-0, 295-pound standout has decommitted from the Cowboys, but that doesn't mean he's ruled out playing for Oklahoma State.

"It's not Oklahoma State. It's some personal problems that I'm going through right now," Gillespie told's Robert Allen on Tuesday night. "I'm not going to forget about OSU, but I have got to be trying to get these problems corrected."

Gillespie said that since he committed to Oklahoma State on March 2 that college coaches, reporters and others have become a nuisance.

"With all the publicity I just forgot about what I needed to be doing," said Gillespie. does not want to be one of those distractions so we told Gillespie that we would not be contacting him but asked him to contact us when he decides to focus his attention back on his recruitment. Gillespie said that he would do so.
