Recruiting: Parsons Delays Decision

Offensive line prospect Thomas Parsons of Smithson Valley, Texas, had originally planned to make a decision and be ready to commit before the end of May. But Parsons called today to report he has had more offers come his way and interest from a school that he wants to check out in early June.

"I'm up to 11 offers now," said the 6-5 1/2, 258-pound Parsons. "Florida State is one of my latest offers to go with Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Baylor, UTEP, Tulsa, New Mexico State, Missouri, Arizona State and Michigan State. I want to go to OU on June 4th. OU has shown some interest and I need to check it out. I'd say OU, Florida State and Oklahoma State are my top three."

Parsons when asked if staying near home is important said that it is, but not 100 percent important. As for his timetable for a decision obviously that has changed with the unofficial coming up in June.

"I'm just waiting around right now," he said. "It's important that I make the right decision, so now I am looking at sometime early in June. But I will take as long as I need to in order to commit to the right school."

A two-year starter that adds plenty of athleticism to the offensive line, Parsons is considered one of the top offensive line prospects in Texas.
