Recruiting: New Name On Offer List

UPS likes to ask in its marketing campaign, "What can brown do for you?" Oklahoma State has now offered Brodrick Brown and obviously the Cowboys would love for him to eventually say yes. Brown is a 5-10, 165-pound cornerback prospect out of Spring (Westfield), Texas. Brown was at the Oklahoma State mini camp in Houston on Wednesday and said it went really well for him.

"It went great, better than I could have expected," said Brown. "It was my first college one-day camp and I ended up having a great time. It was a great experience. I really learned a lot. I learned a lot of new drills, the proper way of running. I'm better for having been there.

"The coaches are down to earth," continued Brown. "They are like kids out there and really get into it. One time there was a ball dropped and the coach came running over, 'You got to catch that. The ball is your friend. You can't drop it.' They are really cool and they are into football just like I am."

Considering Brown has a best 40-yard dash time of 4.39 we kind of think he has a pretty good idea of how to run. Brown also has a bench press max of 255 pounds and a max in the squat of 385 pounds. Last season he had 64 tackles, four interceptions, and four pass breakups. He also scored two touchdowns, one on an interception return and the other on a kickoff return. Brown said after he left the camp and was having lunch he felt like he'd scored another touchdown.

"I was shocked and excited all at the same time," he said. "I was eating and got a text and then called Coach (Joe) DeForest and Oklahoma State offered me. It was my first offer and the cat got my tongue. I didn't know what to say."

Brown said he had been hearing from UTEP, Sam Houston State, Morgan State, Nebraska, Houston and Rice, but had not been offered by any school yet.

We asked him what next? "I didn't commit, but Coach said I didn't need to," said Brown. "I said I had to talk to my family and he told me to talk to my coach and ask him about how Oklahoma State takes care of their players. I just know I'm excited."

Brown said he does plan on talking to his parents and his coach. He also knows that Oklahoma State is at the top of his list.
