Recruiting: Cooper Said He Knew About Dupree

Standout defensive back Keanon Cooper of Dallas (Skyline), Texas said he knew his high school teammate Alfred Dupree was going to make a commitment to Oklahoma State, and Cooper said he is happy for his fellow Raider defender.

"He told me he was going to commit to Oklahoma State for a long time," said Cooper of DuPree. "He was just waiting until the right time, and I'm happy for him. He made his choice and that is the right school for him."

Many coaches, fans, and interested recruiting observers are wondering which is the right school for the 6-0, 195-pound speedy Cooper. While there is plenty of interest, Cooper is content to take his time.

"Right now I'm going through summer workouts," said Cooper. "I haven't been to any camps or unofficial visits lately, and I don't have a school in mind right now. I am in the process of narrowing down the schools I'm considering. I know Coach Saban wants me to come to the Alabama camp. I don't know about. I have to see if I can make it. If it's right for me."

As for Oklahoma State, Cooper said he's not sure. "They have show interest in me," said Cooper when asked if he could see himself going to the same school as a teammate (Dupree). "They just never officially offered, but they have continued to show interest."

Cooper says he is not in any hurry and is going to take his time with the recruiting process and making a decision on his future football and educational home.
