Hoops Recruiting: Gillenwater, OSU Split

Troy Gillenwater, rated as the 63rd-best prospect in the nation by Scout.com and one of the best power forwards prospects, will not be signing with Oklahoma State in November. The 6-8, 225-pound Gillenwater verbally committed to OSU in February but sources have told GoPokes.com that by mutual agreement the two have decided to go their separate ways.

Gillenwater averaged 11.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game while playing last season as a junior at Stoneridge Prep in Simi Valley, Calif. The Boston native has reportedly left Stoneridge Prep and returned to his hometown and will play next season at Notre Dame Prep.

Gillenwater committed to Oklahoma State in February after narrowing his choice of schools to USC, Arizona and Kansas. He was expected to be one of two high school players signing with the Cowboys during the early signing period in November.

The Cowboys, following the decision by JamesOn Curry earlier this week to keep his name in the NBA Draft, now have two available scholarships.

Point guard Keiton Page from Pawnee, Okla., is now the Cowboys' lone commitment for the 2008 recruiting class.
