Recruiting: More Than 40 Prospects Saw Win

Our correspondent on the sidelines counted more than 40 prospects that were on hand as unofficial visitors for Oklahoma State's 49-45 win over Texas Tech and saw the Cowboys go 1-0 in the Big 12 Conference. The most impressive names among an outstanding list involved two Cowboy commitments in the 2008 recruiting class and several other top prospects.

OSU commitments on hand were quarterback Kody Spano and linebacker Victor Jones. Several prospects that Oklahoma State is hoping to add to the 2008 recruiting class were also in Stillwater, including All-Everything wide receiver Jameel Owens of Muskogee, Midwest City standout John Flanders, DeSoto safety C.J. Cox, and Pflugerville jumbo speedster safety prospect Zavier Gooden.

There were also a number of impressive juniors for the class of 2009 that were there for the pre-game meal (recruits must pay for), tour of the facilities, three available complimentary tickets, sideline view of pre-game warmups, and seats for the game, followed by an opportunity to meet with the coaches after the game.

Those junior standouts included David Oku, who many believe will be one of the top five running backs in the nation in the 2009 class and is having a great season for top-ranked and undefeated Carl Albert; Flanders' brother Timothy, who is having a stellar season at running back for the undefeated Bombers; and Texan Mike Hicks, who is a do everything player for 3A power China Springs in the Centex region.

Here is our complete list of players that were on hand for the Texas Tech game along with a few notes:
