Recruiting: Flanders Likes Game, And Gundy

It's not surprising that a Midwest City (Okla.) Bomber would see eye-to-eye with another Bomber. Midwest City cornerback and kick return specialist John Flanders was at Oklahoma State's 49-45 win over Texas Tech last Saturday.

The 5-10, 170-pound 4.4 speedster is a huge reason that Midwest City is off to an unbeaten start as they get ready to play district rival Edmond Memorial on Friday night. One of the top cornerbacks prospects in the state, Flanders liked what he saw last Saturday.

"Exciting," said Flanders getting to the point in his opinion of the game. "I'm definitely interested in OSU. I've sent more film (game video) to OSU and OU."

Flanders also said he agrees with Gundy coming out in the post-game news conference in defense of one of his players after a local sportswriter wrote a column attacking the character and attitude of that player.

Flanders said that in addition to the two in-state schools he is also considering Arkansas. He attended the OSU-Texas Tech game with his two brothers. Younger brother Tim is a junior running back that is also a major force on the Bomber team and is considered one of the top running back prospects in the state for the 2009 recruiting class.

"We could (end up at the same college)," expressed the older Flanders. "It doesn't really matter, but we are looking at the same schools right now."

Right now keeping the strong start with the Bombers is the most pressing thing on Flanders' mind.

"It's going good, and yes, we are ready for Edmond on Friday night."
