Recruiting: Victor Jones Is Playing Well

Linebacker Victor Jones of Richland, Texas, is one of those enthusiastic kind of guys. You know, he sees the glass half full, and while he and his Richland teammates are 2-2 on the season heading into a rivalry showdown with Haltom this Friday, Jones feels they are peaking in time for district.

"The season is going really good," said Jones. "The defense is amazing and the offense is coming together at the right time. We're starting to get it done for district play."

Last week Richland lost to Colleyville in a game closer than the final score of 17-7. The 6-1, 217-pound linebacker with 4.54 speed is putting up good numbers every week, averaging 10 tackles a game.

"I'm playing well, but there is always things I can improve on," said Jones. "I have 19 unassisted tackles, 21 assisted tackles, 2 tackles for losses, 2 sacks, 2 fumbles recovered, and 2 passes deflected."

Those are solid number four games into the season. Jones is solid in another area too.

"Nothing has changed for me at all. I'm committed to Oklahoma State," he said. "I went up to the Texas Tech game. I picked a good one. That was a great game, up and down the field. Not much defense, but all that matters is getting the win and the Cowboys did that."

Just like Jones is counting on he and his Richland teammates to do this Friday.
