Recruiting: Waco's Johnson Looking At Visits

One of the premier safety prospects in the country is Waco, Texas prospect Victor Johnson. The 6-1, 175-pound Johnson has better than 4.5 speed and can cover a lot of ground in the middle of the defense, and is an aggressive player on one of the better teams in Class 4A in Texas.

"The season is going all right," said Johnson on Wednesday night. "We're 5-1 or 6-1; either way we've only lost one game. We go to Killeen this week."

When opponents dare to test Johnson's area of the field he has made them pay for it.

"Individually, I'm playing pretty good," he said. "I had an interception a couple of games back and I have a defensive touchdown on a fumble recovery. I'd say I'm playing pretty good when the ball comes at me."

As far as recruiting goes Johnson has not made any unofficial visits to check out any college games in person, but he is in the midst of trying to decide on official visits.

"I haven't set any up yet," said Johnson. "I'm working on that right now. I can't say which schools I will visit but I know I will make visits to Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Miami."

Other schools he mentioned were TCU, Kansas and Texas Tech. He said there were others he was considering as well.
