Future Cowboys In Week 10

Each week throughout the season GoPokes.com will track the progress of the 18 high school football players who have verbally committed to sign with Oklahoma State next February. Here are the results for each of the players' teams from the 10th week of the high school season.

Wichita Falls (Texas) High Coyotes
Anderson caught six passes for 105 yards, including a 40-yard touchdown reception on the Coyote's first possession of the second half, as Wichita Falls secured a playoff berth with a 30-22 victory over Denison on Friday night. The Coyotes improved to 7-2 entering the final week of the regular season.

TIM BENFORD, DE (6-5, 230)
Jersey Village (Texas) High Falcons
Jersey Village suffered a 49-28 loss to Cy Falls on Friday night to fall to 2-7 overall and 2-4 in District 17-5A.

Westfield (Houston, Texas) High Mustangs
The Westfield defense did the job in a showdown for the District 16-5A championship as the Mustangs defeated the Klein Oak Panthers 38-0 on Friday to clinch the district title. Klein Oak, which entered the game 8-0 oveall and 4-0 in district play managed just 149 total yards against Westfield, which improved to 7-2 and 5-0.

DAJUAN DAVIS, OT (6-4, 295)
Crowley (Texas) High Eagles
Davis got to see firsthand what future OSU teammate Kody Spano of Stephenville hopes to do in the next four or five years as a Cowboy on Friday night. Stephenville, with Spano leading the way, defeated Crowley 35-14 in a key District 8-4A matchup. Crowley fell to 5-4 overall and 4-2 in district play, and must win Friday night against Aledo to secure a playoff berth.

ALFRED DUPREE, LB (6-2, 210)
Skyline (Dallas, Texas) High Raiders
Dupree and the Raider defense recorded their fourth consecutive shutout with a 35-0 victory over Dallas Carter on Thursday night. Skyline ended Carter's 33-game district winning streak and improved to 8-1 overall and 4-0 in District 11-5A.

La Marque (Texas) High Cougars
La Marque, the defending Class 4A-Division II state champions, qualified for the playoffs on Friday night but it wasn't how the Cougars planned. Dickinson defeated La Marque 43-22 in the Cougars' final regular season game of the season, but they still earned a playoff berth thanks to Texas City's victory over Angleton. La Marque, 8-2, has this week off before beginning the playoffs on Friday, Nov. 16.

JEREMY GRAY, DE (6-6, 235)
Sherman (Texas) High Bearcats
Gray returned to action Friday night as Sherman rolled to an easy 42-7 victory over Denton Guyer.

JACKIE HINTON, WR (5-11, 185)
Channelview (Texas) High Falcons
Hinton rushed for a game-best 106 yards, including a 6-yard touchdown in the second quarter, as Channelview defeated Baytown Lee 23-8 on Friday night.

PATRICK HOOG, OG (6-4, 295)
Medina Valley (Texas) High Panthers
Medina Valley did not play this past week and will finish the 2007 regular season Friday night.

JUSTIN HORTON, TE (6-4, 220)
Henderson (Texas) High Lions
Henderson suffered a 31-16 loss to Kilgore on Friday night.

VICTOR JONES, LB (6-1, 220)
Richland (North Richland Hills, Texas) High Rebels
Richland blocked two extra-point kicks and that proved to be the difference as Richland defeated Keller Central 27-26 on Friday night.

TRAVIS MILLER, RB (5-10, 180)
Marlin (Texas) High Bulldogs
Marlin suffered a controversial 19-18 loss to Centerville on Friday night.

Mesquite (Texas) High Skeeters
Richards caught five passes for 72 yards, including a 34-yard pass from quarterback Luke Halpin that set up a touchdown but it wasn't enough as Longview rallied from a 14-3 deficit for a 22-14 victory on Friday night.

QUINN SHARP, K (6-0, 180)
Summit (Arlington, Texas) High Jaguars
Summit rolled over winless Fort Worth Paschal (0-9) by the score of 56-0 and Sharp kicked the extra point after all eight touchdowns Friday night.

KODY SPANO, QB (6-2, 200)
Stephenville (Texas) High Yellow Jackets
Spano returned to the lineup Friday night after missing a week with a bruised shoulder and didn't miss a beat in leading Class 4A No.-1 ranked Stephenville to a 35-14 victory over Crowley. Spano completed 20 of 27 passes for 224 yards and three touchdowns, and also scored on a 4-yard run as the Yellow Jackets improved to 9-0. Spano also rushed for 23 yards on 11 carries.

KYE STALEY, ATH (6-0, 200)
Guthrie (Okla.) High Bluejays
Staley had three rushing touchdowns and threw for another as Guthrie rolled to a 69-0 victory over Woodward in the regular season finale to go to 10-0 with the playoffs set to begin this week.

LANE TAYLOR, OG (6-2, 295)
Arlington Martin (Texas) High Colts
Arlington Martin lost to defending Class 5A Division II state champion Cedar Hill 31-3 on Friday night. The Colts began the season 7-0 but have now lost their last two games.
