Recruiting: Juco Corner Gray Likes Cowboys

Another Butler County (Kansas) Community College standout preparing for that title showdown in Utah with Snow C.C. is cornerback Maurice Gray. The Warner Robbins, Ga., native has had a stellar all-conference season with 46 total tackles, 36 unassisted, three tackles for loss, and an impressive four interceptions. Gray says he and his Butler teammates are ready.

"This is the kind of game you dream of playing in," said Gray, who added they are ready for Snow the team, and just in case snow as in weather. "Yes, we're prepared for that too."

Gray has scholarship offers beyond Butler from Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Kansas, Troy and Middle Tennessee to name a few.

"I'm really locked in on Oklahoma State," said Gray. "I know they will treat me like I've been treated here at Butler. I want to play for a great coaching staff and I think that's what they have."

Gray said he has set up a visit for Dec. 7, along with his teammates running back Beau Johnson and defensive tackle Swanson Miller. Gray, obviously, can cover receivers, but he is really proud of another part of his game that he worked on.

"Coming up to support the run," he added. "I was weak on that last year and I really worked on helping out on the run in the offseason and summer and I think it paid off."

Gray is a good all-around cornerback that would be a solid addition if the Cowboys can land him.
