Recruiting: Daniel Calvin A Player To Watch

Defensive tackles are a precious commodity in college football recruiting right now and you can expect to hear the name Daniel Calvin out of Bakersfield (Calif.) Community College. The 6-3, 322-pound Calvin goes into the California State Junior College Championship game this Saturday with 25 total tackles, 7 tackles for a loss, a sack, an interception, and a fumble caused.

Calvin had visited Mississippi earlier in the fall and committed to then head coach Ed Orgeron and the Rebels. We tried to contact Calvin Wednesday night, but he was working on campus and we did speak with his dad.

"He came in the other night and said I guess it isn't Mississippi after he heard the coach was fired," said Mr. Calvin. "He has interest in Kansas State and Nevada. Oklahoma State also called a couple of weeks ago. This game Saturday is pretty important to them. It's the one they didn't win last year, so they'd like to get it this time."

Calvin can probably expect to hear from several schools after the championship game on Saturday.
