Cowboys Headed To Insight Bowl?

It still is not official but Oklahoma State is going to be the Big 12 representative in the Insight.com Bowl to be held Dec. 31 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz., with kickoff at 3:30 p.m. local time (5:30 p.m. Central Time). The selection will become official Sunday, but Oklahoma State officials have been told that is where they are heading. The question is who will they play?

The leading candidates are the 7-5 Indiana Hoosiers with Michigan State, also 7-5, as an outside possibility. The thought is that Michigan State may be kept closer to home for drawing power in the Motor City Bowl.

This bowl trip will be Oklahoma State's second in a row, and the second in three years with Mike Gundy as head coach. It is a school best fifth bowl trip in six years dating back to the Houston Bowl trip in 2001. Since then the Cowboys have appeared in the Cotton Bowl, Alamo Bowl, Independence Bowl, and now the Insight.com Bowl.

All bowl bids will become official on Sunday afternoon.
