Recruiting: Johnson Likes What He Sees At OSU

Standout safety prospect Victor Johnson of Waco, Texas, has long talked about Miami, but after his official visit this weekend to Oklahoma State the 6-1, 185-pound All-State candidate in Texas is talking about the Cowboys program.

"What impressed me the most?" said Johnson repeating the question. "Everything, everything about the program, the whole program. The coaches were great, the players, the facilities. I liked everything about it."

Johnson was shown around by current sophomore safety Ricky Price, another Texan.

"Ricky showed me around and the coaches spent a lot of time with me showing me around," added the Waco Lion product.

"I saw everything I wanted to see both in football and in academics. I want to major in physical education. Coach Meach (Doug Meacham) has really done a good job in keeping up with me and communicating. I needed to see what he was talking about and I did this weekend. I loved everything."

Johnson also elaborated on where he is in the recruiting process.

"I go to Miami on the 14th (Dec. 14) and then I have talked about visiting Oklahoma, but there isn't a date set up for that," explained Johnson. "There are other schools but that is really the three that I'm thinking of visiting."

Johnson was eager to talk about everything and said he would be fine with us contacting him after the Miami visit, which we will.
