Recruiting: Askew To Join Curtis On OSU Visit

Running back De'Anthony Curtis is not the only standout from Camden Fairview High School in Arkansas that is heading to Oklahoma State for an official visit this weekend. Defensive tackle Lavunce Askew is coming too. GoPokes.com's Robert Allen visited with him Wednesday night about his upcoming trip to Stillwater.

The 6-3, 260-pound front line defender finished the season with 71 total tackles, 26 tackles for loss, and 9 sacks as Fairview finished 12-1 losing out in the semifinals. Like Curtis, Askew also committed early in the fall to Arkansas.

"I'm still committed. I still consider myself a Hog," said Askew over the phone. "I am going to visit Oklahoma State. Coach Luper (OSU assistant) said I needed to come over and see the millions of dollars they are putting in their stadium, so I'm going over to check it out, and I hear the campus is nice."

Askew is one of the top high school defensive tackle prospects in the Southwest and at one time was recruited by a number of schools. He said this is the only visit that he is taking right now.
