Recruiting: Blackmon Joins The Fold

Justin Blackmon of Ardmore (Plainview), Okla., confirmed that he made an official visit this weekend to Stillwater. Before leaving , Blackmon informed head coach Mike Gundy and wide receivers coach Gunter Brewer that he is heading to Oklahoma State.

"I just liked it," said Blackmon. "I always have liked the school and I like the coaches and the players. DeMarcus Connor showed me around. I like the campus and the town ... everything."

Another thing the 6-2, 195-pound do-everything player for Ardmore Plainview really liked was that the Cowboys had him with Gunter Brewer and Connor, and the talk was all about wide receiver.

"I know I said I'd play anyplace, but I really want to play wide receiver. So yes, that made a difference," Blackmon said. "I don't think I'll be visiting anyplace else. I've got basketball and I'm done.

Blackmon's numbers were amazing for the semifinalist in Class 3A as he had 57 receptions for 1,532 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also had 19 carries for 147 yards and two touchdowns. Then on defense, he recorded 37 tackles with seven interceptions and four returned for touchdowns. Blackmon was a touchdown machine at Plainview.
