Recruiting: Burgess Has Decision To Make

Defensive tackle LeRoy Burgess of Georiga Military College said he was sitting in the Kansas City airport thinking when we called Sunday afternoon, and he said he will be doing some more thinking before he's through. Burgess, who has visited Mississippi, N.C. State and Oklahoma State, was on his way back home from Kansas State.

"It was a good visit, a great visit because I really got to connect with the coaches since the campus was empty with finals being over," said Burgess. "I did get to know some of the guys that had to stay over and take make up finals."

The 6-1, 300-pound Burgess is the key to several schools defensive plans as he plays that all important shade technique on the defensive line. Burgess had good numbers with eight tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. He also had a rare interception at the position.

So what's next as the signing day for J.C. players closes in on Wednesday? "I've got to get home and discuss with my friends and family," said Burgess. "I think it's either Oklahoma State or Kansas State. Call me on Tuesday evening and I'll know."
