Recruiting: Cowboys Target Memphis Tight End

Oklahoma State has verbal commitments from two standout high school tight end prospects in Justin Horton of Henderson, Texas and Cooper Bassett of Tuttle, Okla. But the Cowboys are making a run for 6-4, 220-pound standout Jamal Mosley of Memphis (Kingsburry), Tenn.

OSU head coach Mike Gundy has said in the past that he would like to have four scholarship tight ends on the team at all times. With junior Justin Waller deciding that Monday's Insight Bowl will be his final game as a Cowboy, the possibility that junior Brandon Pettigrew may declare for the NFL Draft, and the recent dismissal of Paschal Smith (who was a senior and would not be back next year anyway), OSU could be left with just one tight end on its roster when spring practice begins ... and that is freshman Wilson Youman who redshirted this past season.

Thus the Cowboys are in desperate need of tight ends, and Mosley is one the coaching staff would like to sign. Although he's been an Ole Miss commitment (and still says he's committed to the Rebels), Mosley recently said that he is going to visit several schools, including Oklahoma State.
