Cowboys Catch Roadrunners

Sean Sutton and the Oklahoma State Cowboys did not play the role of hospitable host very well Wednesday night. The Cowboys had four players score in double figures to defeat Texas-San Antonio and head coach Brooks Thompson at Gallagher-Iba Arena. Thompson, the head coach of the Roadrunners, played for the Eddie Sutton-coached Cowboys in the early 1990s.

The Cowboys improved to 8-5 on the season with their third consecutive victory.

Oklahoma State shot 59 percent from the field and made 21-of-27 free throws, but the Cowboys turned the ball over 23 times. The Cowboys led by as many as 18 in the second half but the Roadrunners used an 8-0 run to make a game of it.

The Cowboys were led by Terrel Harris with 21 points, while Marcus Dove (14), Byron Eaton (14) and James Anderson (10) also scored in double figures. Eaton scored all of his 14 points in the second half, including making 12 free throws (which ties for eighth most in a game in school history), and also had five assists

Sutton and the Cowboys will face another former member of the program Monday night when Rogers State head coach Wren Baker (a former administrative assistant for four years) brings his first-year team into Gallagher-Iba Arena.
