Recruiting: Thomas Still Solid With Cowboys?

Safety Johnny Thomas of Texas City, Texas, committed to OSU in December, but has also been taking other visits since making that verbal. This past weekend the 6-foot, 180-pound Thomas made an official visit to Oregon State. caught up with Thomas on Sunday afternoon, and here's what he had to say about his most recent trip and what he thinks about Oklahoma State.

Did you make the trip to Oregon State this weekend?
Thomas: Yes, sir. I went up Thursday and came back Saturday.

How was the trip to Oregon State?
Thomas: The state was nice. The town (of Corvallis) was nice. It was kinda small.

What was small?
Thomas: The town was small. The school was pretty nice. On the campus, it was like everything was close together.

Has anything changed in your recruitment?
Thomas: No, sir. Nothing has changed.

So who are you committed to right now?
Thomas: Oklahoma State.

In addition to Oklahoma State, you've now visited Oregon State, Ole Miss and TCU. How do those four schools compare at this point?
Thomas: None of the other schools compare to Oklahoma State.

In your opinion, what makes Oklahoma State better?
Thomas: The people. I like the town. The living conditions (for the athletes) are better.

Do you still plan on taking a trip to Arkansas next weekend?
Thomas: Yes, sir.

What are you expectations heading to Arkansas?
Thomas: I don't know anything about Arkansas. All I know about them is that they've got a new coach (in Bobby Petrino).

When do you head to Arkansas?
Thomas: Friday.

Have you heard from any Oklahoma State coaches?
Thomas: I talked to coach (Joe) DeForest earlier (today). He was asking me about the visit (to Oregon State). I told him I'm still coming to Oklahoma State.
