Recruiting: No Go On Greer

Steve Greer, the linebacker from Solon, Ohio, who saw his recruiting prowess heat up down the stretch of the recruiting season with interest from Oklahoma State, North Carolina, Michigan, and Virginia, has returned from a midweek visit to Charlottesville, Va., and decided to become a Cavalier.

"It was really neat," said Greer. "It's a good school and the academics are incredible. It was an opportunity for football and an education that I could not turn down. I told them before I left that I was coming.

"The hardest part of the decision was Coach Beck (OSU defensive coordinator Tim Beckman). I really formed a great relationship with Coach Beck and would have loved to play for him," Greer said.

That leaves OSU short on linebackers in this class with maybe the only chance to recoup being if the Cowboys can pull off a commitment and signing of Pflugerville linebacker Zaviar Gooden.
