10 Questions with Donald Booker

GoPokes.com recently caught up with several of the Oklahoma State recruits to ask "10 Questions" designed to allow Cowboy fans an opportunity to get to know the players who will be signing on National Signing Day. Here are the answers provided by junior college All-American linebacker Donald Booker who played at Navarro (Texas) College the past two seasons.

1) What about Oklahoma State first caught your eye?
Booker: The chance for me to play right away. I only have two years left and they lost a lot of people, so I'm confident I can go in and earn a starting spot.

2) What was your deciding factor in committing to the Cowboys?
Booker: I like the coaches and I like the players. My mom really liked the coaches and how they warmed up to my family, so that was a big factor too.

3) What are three words that describe you as a person?
Booker: Loyal. Determined. Physical.

4) What are three words that describe you as a football player?
Booker: Patient. Physical. Outgoing.

5) What is your favorite thing to do on the field?
Booker: I like to be the leader, set the tone for my teammates and the team.

6) What is your favorite thing to do off the field?
Booker: Probably watch game tape or talk to girls (laughing).

7) If you don't go to the NFL, what profession would you like to enter?
Booker: I want to be a football coach. I'd like to one day be a college coach.

8) What are you most looking forward to in terms of playing at OSU?
Booker: Winning. I think this team will have a real good chance of being real good next season, and stepping up and winning the games they lost in the fourth quarter this year.

9) What do you feel will be your biggest challenge in moving from junior college to Division I football?
Booker: I would probably say the speed of the game. I just feel like in D-I they are a lot faster than junior college. I'm not slow but I think it's going to be a lot faster in D-I than what I'm used to seeing, and I'm working on my speed right now to prepare for that.

10) Who is the one player on Oklahoma State's roster or in your recruiting class that you are most looking forward to being teammates?
Booker: I would have to say Jacob Lacey because he's the one who showed me around Oklahoma State when I came up for my visit.
